Wordplay, Filipino style!
Our way with words comes in handy, especially in signs like this one. It’s a sandwich shop that’s not too far from my place of work and it specializes in cheese sandwiches, hence the name. 🙂

- Catholics lining up to have their “palaspas” (specially woven and decorated palm fronds) blessed by the priest after Mass.

- Waving “palaspas” to re-enact Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem, the priest goes around and sprinkles holy water to bless the palm fronds.
